Sports

Clubs, ovals and recreation facilities in and around Murrurundi.

Sport is a big part of life in Murrurundi, centred on Wilson Memorial Park on Mayne Street — home to the Murrurundi Rugby League Football Club (the Mavericks and Mavettes, who compete in the Group 21 competition), the Murrurundi Cricket Club, and the town's tennis courts. The Murrurundi & District War Memorial Pool, also on Mount Street, is a 25-metre outdoor pool with toddler pools and learn-to-swim programs run by Upper Hunter Shire Council over the summer season.

Elsewhere in town, the Murrurundi Bowling Club offers synthetic greens, a bar and restaurant on Mayne Street, and the Murrurundi Golf Club has a 9-hole sand-greens course on Paradise Road that welcomes visiting golfers year-round. On the edge of town, the Rosedale Complex is the district's equestrian hub, hosting the annual Murrurundi Rodeo and Campdraft as well as the King of the Ranges Stockman's Challenge & Bush Festival each September.
