A circa-1856 Mayne Street building made from rare handmade thumbprint bricks, once a wool and sheepskin store.
Built around 1856 from distinctive handmade “thumbprint” bricks - each pressed by hand by an early colonial brickmaker - this building once stored and graded sheepskins and wool bales from surrounding stations, long before the railway arrived in 1872. It sits almost directly opposite Brook Street, close to the Pages River that early transport relied on. Now used as a private workshop. One of 30 stops on the town's Heritage Walk.
