A National Trust-listed sandstone estate on Polding Street, built in 1880 as a convent for the Sisters of Mercy.
Built in 1880 as the Convent of Mercy and later home to a Catholic school until both closed in 1970, this grand sandstone homestead sits on a 12,300 square metre property with a central gable topped by a crucifix, cast-iron verandah lacework and original fireplaces. It's since operated as an art gallery, yoga retreat, music school and quilting workshop, and is now a privately owned estate. National Trust listed. One of 30 stops on the town's Heritage Walk.
