Anita Faulkner runs "ArtOnly by Anita" from Mayne Street, Murrurundi, working as a portrait and illustration artist.
She paints by hand for detailed portrait work, and turns to airbrush for large-scale mural pieces - a combination that lets her move between fine detail and big, bold public art.
She takes commissions for portraits, pet and animal portraits and weddings, and shares her skills locally through private and group art tuition.
She is also a prize-winning exhibitor, having taken out 1st Prize in the 35th Annual Easter Art Prize in Port Macquarie and been Highly Commended in the D’Arcy Doyle Art Awards in Mudgeeraba, QLD.
Her most visible community work is the murals on the water tanks at the redeveloped Murrurundi Wilson Memorial Hospital - a design inspired by artwork from students at Murrurundi Public School, turning a piece of hospital infrastructure into a genuinely local, community-made landmark.
