The Murrurundi Community Portal Website was officially launched on Thursday 11th July at 10.00am by the Mayor of the Upper Hunter Shire Council, Michael Johnsen.
The two develpers of the Murrurundi Community Portal Website are:
Bill Burdin - Programmer and Strategist
Rodney Swansborough - Internet Strategist and Designer
The Murrurundi Community Website has two Navigation Menu Bars
1. Home Navigation Bar:
Every Category and Page on this menu bar is initially created by the Website Administrator and in consultation with the Murrurundi community can be adjusted, changed and updated.
As well, any page can be allocated to a "community editor" who can self-manage their pages from their own computer. The "community editor" is given a self-management web address, login and password and is able to add images, text content, videos etc as well as design the layout of their pages. This allows any community group who has their own "editor", to be totally in charge of their own webpage content. Community groups have applied to have an editor, and are now self-managing their own webpages.
If your community groups wants to self-manage your pages, contact the Website Adminstrator under "Contact Us" and Rodney will email you your self-management login details.
If you community group is not listed, contact the Website Administrator to be allocated your webpage.
2. Community OzDirectory Navigation Bar:
This Navigation Bar uses the famous OzDirectory, which is designed to specifically localise the Yellow Pages listings. All listings seen are strictly local, focusing on the Murrurundi district.
This navigation menu bar categories are initially created by the Website Administrator, and can be edited in consultation with the Murrurundi Community.
All business/community listings are initially based on the content in the Yellow Pages in the OzDirectory. If your listing does not appear, you may not be in the Yellow Pages or the search words used do not locate your listing.
Any local business/community group can apply to be listed in the OzDirectory from the Home Page of the Murururundi Community Website. The Website Administrator will contact you once you have applied and will outline the conditions and cost of your listing.
All Yellow Pages listings can be "promoted" to an Upgraded OzDirectory Listing. These upgraded listings can include an image and added information which is not found in the Yellow Pages listings. Contact the Website Administrator on how your listing can be "promoted".
As well, any Upgraded OzDirectory Listings can be self-managed by the business/community group affiliated with that listing. This means the listing editor can modify the images, layout and information in their Upgraded OzDirectory Listings at anytime using a self-management web address, login and password. Contact the Website Administrator for more information.
